22nd Branch Opened At Abeka
   News: Prudential News

The Bank opened its 22nd branch at Abeka in Accra  on Wednesday 2nd September 2009, with an appeal to customers to access its superior banking services.

Opening the branch, Mrs. Mary Brown, Deputy Managing Director (Banking Operations), said another branch would be opened at Tamale in the Northern Region soon and the remaining regional capitals by the end of 2010.

She explained that the Abeka branch was opened because most of their customers reside in the area and the bank was making giant strides in promoting the country's socio-economic development.

Mrs. Brown said the bank provided all modern and technology-based banking services and products necessary for the development of businesses.

She mentioned ATM services and SMS banking services that enabled customers to obtain services such as account balance enquiry and transfer, information on salary, reports on successful and unsuccessful execution of standing orders, mini statement generation and accessing full statement on mobile phones.

Mrs. Brown said the bank provided banking services to all sectors of the economy with special focus on micro, small and medium scale enterprises, fishing and cold store businesses, manufacturing, agriculture, export consumer loans, general commercial activities and project financing.

She said other services of the bank were, fund management, call accounts in local and foreign currencies and free cash collection services.

Mrs. Brown said the international service of the bank included sight and deferred payment, import letters of credit facilities, handling of import and export bills for collection, export letters of credit, sales and purchase of foreign exchange, foreign transfers and cheque collections.

She said the Bank of Ghana recently launched an electronic cheque code-line clearing system introduced by the bank which would be effective on Monday, September 7, 2009.

Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) started its operations in Ghana thirteen (13) years ago and has twenty-two (22) networked branches.

Sixteen (16) of the branches are located in Accra and Tema, four (4) in Kumasi one (1) each in Takoradi and Cape Coast.
