Prudential Bank LTD (PBL), a leading financial institution renowned for its customer-centric approach and innovative banking solutions, has once again demonstrated its commitment to education by donating a brand-new Nissan Navara 4x4 pick-up truck to the upcoming Ghana Teacher Prize awards ceremony.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that PBL has supported the prestigious event.
The vehicle will be presented to the first runner-up award winner of this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize,
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Mr. Bernard Gyebi, Managing Director for Prudential Bank, who made the presentation on behalf of the Bank, said Prudential Bank was honoured to partner with the Ministry of Education, the National Teaching Council, and the Ghana Teacher Prize brand to motivate teachers.
He said quality education was the cornerstone of progress and development as it empowers individuals, drives economic growth, and fosters social cohesion.
The vision for education in Ghana leaves no child behind; where every student has access to a high- quality education that equips them for the challenges of the 21st century. Achieving this vision requires dedicated, well-trained and motivated teachers,” he said.
Motivation, he said, played a critical role in steering an employee's enthusiasm to work harder for increased productivity.
Mr. Lawrence Sarpong, Deputy Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), who received the brand-new vehicle on behalf of the Council and the Registrar, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, commended the Prudential Bank for its contribution towards motivating teachers to work efficiently and effectively.
Mr. Sarpong further reiterated that recognizing teachers who have exceptionally executed their mandate is in the right direction.
“I am glad that Prudential Bank is associated with this worthy brand,” he said.
He then called on other corporate bodies to emulate what PBL had done for the Teacher Prize brand.
The Ghana Teacher Prize 2024 marks the seventh year since the rebranding from Best Teacher Awards. The award scheme is 29 years this year.
The event will commence with a two-day symposium and exhibition at Sunset Hotel in Kumasi from Thursday, October 3 to Friday, October 4, 2024, and climax with a grand durbar at KNUST Great Hall, Kumasi, on World Teachers’ Day, slated for Saturday, October 5, 2024.
